Those of us who love our Oriental rugs often find pleasure in other antique pieces and often turn a weekend into buying trip. With Summer months quickly approaching, here are some upcoming events in that may be worth a look.
1. Helmsley Antiques

With seven dates in April, this event is popular amongst those in Yorkshire and further afield. The town of Helmsley is a popular market town and also boasts Helmsley Castle which is a popular point of interest.
The North York Moors National Park are also on Helmsley’s doorstep and account for 9 million day-visits every year.
2. Antiques for Everyone

In stark contrast to the setting above, Antiques for Everyone takes place at the NEC, just 9 miles from Birmingham city centre. There are dates throughout 2015 in April, July and November which gives you three opportunities to make it. With a long list of exhibitors and celebrity appearances throughout the day.
In April 2015, Judith Miller and Will Farmer from BBC’s Antiques Roadshow will be offering their advice and tips for antique buying.
3. Europe’s Largest Outdoor Antique Fair

The town of Newark in Nottinghamshire plays host to Europe’s largest outdoor antique fair on the 9th and 10th of April. Organised by IACF, and having 2500 stands spread across 84 acres, this is likely to be an exciting event.
If you’d prefer not to drive, the event organisers have arranged a coach to transport people between Newark Northgate railway station and the show ground.
